Phosphaturic mesenchymal tumor is a rare tumour.

One type is the phosphaturic mesenchymal tumour, mixed connective tissue type, abbreviated PMTMCT.

General

  • Extremely rare.
  • Hypophosphatemia.[1]
  • Most common cause of oncogenic osteomalacia (tumour-induced osteomalacia).[2]

Gross

Microscopic

Features:[2]

  • Spindle cells without atypia in a fibrillary matrix.
  • Osteoclast-type giant cells.
