Mesonephric remnant hyperplasia of the prostate gland, also mesonephric remnant, is rare benign finding in the prostate gland that can be confused with malignancy.

General

  • Very rare.[1] ~ 0.6% incidence in a series of almost 700 TURP specimens.[2]
  • Can mimic prostate carcinoma.[3]

Microscopic

Features:[1]

  • Small glands with small bland appearing cuboidal cells in a lobular arrangement.
