Decidualized endometrium is endometrium with changes due to progestins.

Non-physiological changes are referred to some as pseudodecidualization or pseudodecidualized endometrium.^[1]

Decidualization may be seen in a number of contexts:

Pregnancy.
Products of conception - decidualized endometrium and chorionic villi.
Secretory phase endometrium - especially late in the cycle.
Endometrium with changes due to exogenous hormones - as with oral contraceptive pill use, known as pseudodecidualized endometrium.
Endometriosis - may mimic squamous cell carcinoma.
