General
- A painful skin lesion.
- Benign.
Microscopic
Features:[3]
- Dense nests of cells in the dermis; "dermal blue balls".
- Apocrine differentiation, i.e. apocrine snouts.
DDx:
Images:
- Eccrine spiradenoma - very low mag. (WC).
- Eccrine spiradenoma - very high mag. (WC).
- Eccrine spiradenoma (dermimages.med.jhmi.edu).[3]
IHC
Features:[4]
- S100 +ve.
- Keratins 7, 8, and 18 +ve.
Notes:
- IHC profile essentially identical to dermal cylindroma.[4]
